Back to School Celebration
Saturday, September 7, 2024 (10am–12pm) at PS 295 School Playground
All families are welcome to join us for an informal gathering at the school playground to meet our new principal, Jean Marie McInerney, make some new friends, and enjoy coffee and snacks. Hosted by the Family Teacher Association. No RSVP required.
[ 3K and PreK families are also invited to a playground meetup on Saturday, August 24 (10–11am). ]
Freedom to Dream Day
Saturday, September 14, 2024 (11am–5pm) on 19th Street and 6th Avenue
Our partners at Mural Justice Project host this annual fall event at the PS 295 campus, celebrating arts, culture, and creative freedom with music, food, games, and performances. This year's event will also feature art stations, inflatable play spaces, singing and dancing presentations, a DJ, and food vendors. Proceeds support the academic, art, and enrichment programs of New York City public schools.

PS 295's Parent Coordinator invites parents and caregivers to enjoy breakfast, hands-on activities, and insightful workshops at this monthly gathering after morning drop-off.

Spirit Days
Select days during the School Year
Students are invited to participate in themed days to dress up, wear comfy clothes, and show their school spirit in unique and fun ways. After school, the Family Teacher Association will organize a bake and merch sale on 19th Street to support our school's programming.

Touch A Truck
Spring 2025
Every year, PS 295 Brooklyn hosts Touch A Truck. Our premiere spring neighborhood event on the PS 295 campus features a full block of amazing vehicles of all shapes and sizes for kids and families to explore: fire trucks, construction equipment, police cars, vintage trolleys, service vehicles, ambulances, and more. Plus food trucks, inflatable play spaces, hands-on activities, and live music. Proceeds support the academic, art, and enrichment programs of our school.
"At this unique street fair, NYC kids and families get up close and personal with a wide variety of special vehicles" (Mommy Poppins) and "where kids can get behind the wheels, honk horns, and play on their favorite vehicles" (Patch).

Arts Festival
Spring 2025
Every spring, PS 295 Brooklyn's Art Studio opens a school-wide gallery of student art at an annual family event with crafts, food, and hands-on activities for kids of all ages. Proceeds support the art programs of our school.
